FAQ
1. Do I need a driving licence to start driving?
Yes, You must have a valid UK driving license or a current International licence. Uk licences are available from the DVLA or your local post office. Allow two to three weeks to receive. Click here to apply for your provisional licence
2. How long will driving take to learn?
That’s a good question, the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) recommend a minimum of 42 hours tuition to get to a standard that will achieve a test pass. There are many differences in human ability that can vary this figure and a better understanding can be decided after a few lesson.
3. Do you take me for my test?
No. The DSA examiners are the only people that test pupils. (They are human even after all the stories you hear). You will of course have the use of my car during the test and we always have a warm-up lesson prior to test I can also arrange a mock test with another instructor to help with nerves.
4. What if I can’t make a lesson?
I normally require a 24hr notice period to cancel a lesson or the lesson will need to be paid for. If there are unusual circumstances then we can discuss at the time.
5. Can you help me with the theory test?
Yes, I had to take the theory test to qualify as an instructor so am fully familiar with the test. I also have mock tests on my laptop that we can do during lessons if you require. Or simply bring the tricky question to the next lesson and we can discuss. |
